Celebrating TC Spirit Day 2024
At Travel Chapter we are all about supporting each other as a team and celebrating our achievements and hard work – we call this TC Team Spirit. While the TC Spirit pulsates through our offices across the UK every day, and virtually for our remote team members, we gather en masse once a year to celebrate it, and we call this TC Spirit Day.
We celebrated TC Spirit Day 2024 in late July, and in this blog we look back at all the fun, awards and events from across the day, as well as the important team fundraising and charity work that we are so very proud of.
What is TC Team Spirit?
The Travel Chapter team is spread wide across the UK, from our headquarters in North Devon to our offices in Cornwall, Norfolk and beyond. To make sure we stay tightly knit as a team, support our successes and push to be the best versions of ourselves, we embrace the TC Team Spirit.
The TC Team Spirit can mean as little as getting the morning round of coffees in and extends to keeping happy and positive as a team, all while achieving success in a high-performance culture. TC Team Spirit encourages us to be brave and take on new challenges while feeling safe and supported, and it is this community culture that has seen us flourish as a team and business.
All this came together in one fun and vibrant celebration on TC Spirit Day 2024 – read on to learn all about the day’s events.
TC Spirit Day 2024
Bunting and balloons adorned our offices at the end of July when our teams gathered to celebrate TC Spirit Day 2024 – the third instalment since its launch in 2021. For the team members joining remotely, we even sent out TC Spirit Day packages to bring a smile to their faces!
A celebration of our talented team and vibrant culture was on the agenda, and that all kickstarted in the morning when we looked back at our biggest achievements from across the year.
From our busy volunteering programmes and fundraising to our support for regional communities and national charities, there was so much to shine a light on. One headline act was Kim Hammerton’s inspiring talk on the importance of our fundraising for Cancer Research UK and how our contributions are used for the charity’s groundbreaking research.
Later in the day, the weather was kind, and the TC Team headed outside for fun, games and al fresco feasting – think giant Connect Four, sizzling BBQs, party snacks and even Cornish charcuterie boards.
Overall, it was another fantastic TC Spirit Day, and we thank everyone who joined in and organised the event for making it such a memorable day!
Cancer Research UK partnership
A particularly important moment of the day came when Cancer Research UK representative Kim Hammerton took the stage for a compelling talk on all the important ways in which our fundraising supports the world's leading independent cancer charity.
In 2023 we were proud to partner with Cancer Research UK, and we kickstarted the special partnership by pledging to raise over £10,000 by July 2024. Since then, the TC Team has worked tirelessly to plan fundraisers that include cake sales, quizzes, Christmas jumper days, dry Januarys and so much more.
One of our biggest fundraisers was the Steps Challenge 2023 where over 50 individuals aimed to each walk 384,339 steps – a significant figure that represents the number of people who are diagnosed with cancer every year in the UK.
After a memorable year of fundraising, walking, baking and spreading awareness, we are so proud to announce that Travel Chapter smashed the £10,000 target by raising £13,695, and the number is still rising!
TC Spirit Awards
Another special part of TC Spirit Day, and a great way to celebrate our hardworking team, are the TC Spirit Awards. These awards invite every member of the Travel Chapter team to nominate someone special for various categories, be it Homeowner Hero, Marketing Maverick, Community Champion and, biggest of them all, the TC Spirit Award Winner.
We would like to give a massive TC congratulations to Emily Postle, our Customer Service Team Supervisor who won the overall TC Spirit Award 2024!
Here’s to another year of TC Spirit
We can’t believe how quickly TC Spirit Day comes around each year, and once again, we send a big thanks to everyone who joined in on the fun in July. A big shoutout must also go to all the fantastic fundraising efforts, regional support and volunteering that we are proud to see across the team throughout the year.
